SOLIDBAT Partner Insights - LCE
As sustainability assessment partner in the SOLIDBAT project, Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) contributes robust and transparent methodologies to evaluate the environmental and economic implications of the battery technologies developed within the consortium. In this interview, LCE explains why Life Cycle Assessment is essential to support informed decision-making and ensure that SOLIDBAT’s innovation delivers real sustainability benefits across the battery value chain.
-
Why did you join the SOLIDBAT project?
We joined the SOLIDBAT project because we believe that next-generation battery technologies play a key role in shaping a more sustainable future for e-mobility. Our motivation is to contribute to a battery solution that is not only high-performing, but also environmentally sound and societally supported. By participating, we aim to promote more informed decision-making and long-term value creation.
-
Which innovative concept will be developed by LCE within SOLIDBAT?
We are not directly developing concepts here. Our goal is rather to apply robust and transparent methodologies to quantify environmental and economic benefits and loads arising from the new battery developed by technical partners.
-
Why is Life Cycle Assessment important for SOLIDBAT’s battery development?
Life Cycle Assessment is essential for ensuring that SOLIDBAT’s innovation leads to real environmental benefits. LCA enables us to identify impacts across the entire battery value chain and make informed, sustainability-driven decisions.
